Henry's Landing Campground & Canoe Rental
The Pere Marquette River has an average depth of 3-4 feet and is approximately 30-40 feet wide. It has a sandy bottom and a slow, gentle current making it a great river for families and beginners. You may encounter log jams and downed limbs to maneuver around, but the river is kept open and clear for floaters and boaters. It is most easily navigated by kayakers. Tubers have more difficulty steering through it's curves and obstacles. You do not need permits to travel our section of the river. Wildlife is abundant, but expect other floaters on the hot summer weekends.
(Besides FUN of course!)
